Email FTP category provides the following features:

  • Adding/modifying email and FTP accounts
  • Adding/Modifying aliases
  • Defining SMTP and outgoing mail properties
  • Defining anonymous FTP account settings
  • Adding utilities to enhance email functionality
Accounts tab
The Accounts tab provides you with a simple and secure way of creating Email FTP users.

When creating an email FTP user account, you will have control over:

  • Account username
  • Account description
  • Account password
  • Whether or not email is enabled or disabled
  • Mail quota
  • Install the Auto Responder ValueApp
  • Whether or not FTP is enabled or disabled
  • FTP quota
  • User's home directory
Each email FTP account user can access an end-user control panel, where they can:
  • Change their password
  • View their email and FTP quotas
  • Transfer files to their home directory
  • Launch their web-mail application
  • Edit their auto responder
  • Enable or disable auto-forwarding
Aliases tab
The Aliases tab provides allows you to create email aliases. Aliases are shortcuts used to redirect email messages. There are four types of aliases that can be defined:
  • Email aliases - An email alias redirects email messages to a specified address. This can be a local email user or to an outside email account such as Hotmail or Yahoo.
  • Distribution List aliases - A distribution list alias (mailing list) enables you to send an email to one address, and have it forwarded to a group of email addresses.
  • Command Line aliases - A command line alias forwards mail to an application for processing.
  • Catch All - A Catch All alias forwards all unresolved email messages to specific email address.
Mail Authorization tab
This tab enables you to define outgoing mail security settings of your mail server. These settings are primarily used to cut down abuse and misuse of relatively open mail servers. If all features in this tab are disabled then you will not be able to use the account’s mail server for outgoing mail from a remote site.

The method's of authorization are:

  • POP before SMTP - POP before SMTP is a method for authenticating users before they send mail through a mail server.
  • SMTP Authentication - When enabled, if user wants to send email messages to external email addresses then user must login to mail server by entering user name and password.
  • IP Relay table - Email messages can be relayed to/from predefined IP addresses and domains.
Anonymous FTP tab
Anonymous FTP can only be activated on an account with a unique IP address. Anonymous FTP access is a Web standard for publishing FTP files to the world wide web. Anyone may login into this FTP account and download/upload files.

Settings tab
Settings tab enables you to configure the parameters of outgoing email messages for account users. Those settings are:
  • Maximum number of recipients - Define the maximum number of email recipients for an email message. This setting assists in preventing spamming.
  • Maximum content length - Define maximum content length for incoming and outgoing email messages.
